The microfluidics field has seen an explosion in popularity in recent years. With applications in mRNA vaccine production, personalized medicine, point-of-care diagnostics, and continuous air/water quality analysis, the field is widely expected to continue its growth over the next decade and beyond.

The Silq Solution

Silq coatings can be tailored to be easily applied to prefabricated or finished microfluidic devices that are made from PDMS, COO/COC, or CBC, preventing the adhesion of blood, proteins, bacteria, and cellular debris to their walls and allowing a free flow.

A broth of flourescent E. coli cells (10^8 cells/mL) was circulated through the channels. The bare PDMS channel is lined with fluorescent bacterial cells quickly, the Silq treated channel remains clear.
