Silq is potentially the perfect long-lasting solution for contact wearers who experience dry eyes.
Silq can be formulated to offer long-term hydration and comfort to silicone hydrogel contact lenses. Due to its ultra-low thickness, the surface treatment is intended to preserve gas permeability properties. In addition, lenses treated with Silq can reduce the deposition of lipids and bacterial cells thereby minimizing complications associated with contact lens wear. This can translate into safe, long-lasting comfort for contact wearers.
Here we treated a commercial silicone hydrogel lens with Silq. When left to dry out in open air this Silq treated lens retains its moisture while it's commercial counterpart quickly shrivels.
