Silq is designed to reduce biofouling on the membrane's surface, allowing treatment plants to extend their lifespan, reduce the frequency of cleaning, and greatly improve their efficiency. Additionally, the surface treatment increases the rejection capabilities of nanofiltration membranes to specifically remove multivalent species from solution.
We designed Silq with roll-to-roll functionalization of membranes in mind. The surface treatment is intended to be easily applied at the end of a flat sheet membrane fabrication line with simple dip and cure processing.
